Cap Corridor

We were extremely proud to transfer £220,000 to Rangers exclusively for Heritage Projects in March 2026 and work is well underway on a number of exciting upgrades.

Significant enhancements to Ibrox were completed ahead of the 2026/27 season, assisted by our funding, and one important area looked at was the corridor between The Trophy Room and Members Lounge.

Decades ago, the late, great Sandy Jardine used this area to showcase Rangers players who had received international honours.

Many former Light Blues stars proudly donated caps to a fellow club legend who was also honoured to represent Rangers and Scotland with distinction.

It was a popular part of any Ibrox Tour but, over the years, the caps began to show their age so the decision was taken to revamp the corridor with fresh photography and lighting.

Hundreds of pictures which highlighted the history and evolution of the stadium were considered to replace Sandy’s work and the final results include a stunning image of the great man himself pointing to the Govan Stand, which was re-named in his honour in 2014.

The word ‘legend’ is often overused in football but it certainly applies to Sandy.

He sadly lost his battle with cancer on 24 April 2014 but he is forever in our thoughts and his phenomenal contribution to Rangers will never be forgotten.

Having his picture in such a prominent position at Ibrox, is an appropriate tribute to his many achievements on and off the pitch at Rangers and, again, we were thrilled to play our part in the work done in this important area of the stadium.
